Equine Animal Health


Equine Park:  Hands-on experiences are provided for future veterinarians in a realistic farm setting.  The Park also promotes equine health through research support, including an assisted-breeding program. 
Equine Performance Testing Clinic: The Clinic provides service to equine patients with performance-limiting disorders and performs research on the horse as an athlete.  The clinic has enabled both basic and clinical scientists to contribute to the understanding of exercise physiology and the equine athlete.
Equine Specialty Services:  Conveniently located opposite the backstretch of historic Belmont Park, Cornell Ruffian Equine Specialists extends the reach of the Cornell Equine Hospital, where internationally renowned specialists inspire and capitalize on the synergy between the science and art of medicine. Cornell equine specialists leverage their knowledge, experience, and professional partnerships—including those with Cornell College of Veterinary Medicine colleagues who offer depth and breadth across the spectrum of specialties—to provide excellent specialty care in state-of-the-art facilities that promote the health and well-being of horses.
Comparative Orthopedics Laboratory:  The long standing and renowned laboratory provides a focus point for the dedicated study of the basic mechanisms of orthopedic diseases and the development of innovative targeted therapeutic measures. 
Postgraduate Studies in Equine Medicine: The Equine Medicine Research Group seeks veterinarians with an interest is pursuing postgraduate research leading to the PhD degree. Cornell offers an exceptional environment for research on horses within the context of a leading research university with major programs in genomics, bioinformatics and computational biology, biomedical engineering, biophysics, and chemical biology.
