Lakeside Nursing and Rehabilitation Center
As one of the very first facilities visited by Cornell Companions, Lakeside Nursing
and Rehabilitation Center has benefited from many hours of service from many types of animals including, cats, ferrets,
rabbits, and llamas. The facility is a private skilled nursing home. Volunteers visit with residents on several
different floors, stopping room to room to visit with those who aren't mobile. Because many of the residents anticipate
visits from the animals and come out of their rooms, volunteers also meet them in groups in the hallways and common areas.
