Describe a typical day in your field
Phone consultations with practicing veterinarians, reviewing cases from AHDC, literature reviews for consultations; assist in laboratory testing needs, etc.
What motivated you to take your career path?
I practiced equine veterinary care for 30 years and decided to use practical experience to assist in consulting with clients at the AHDC and enjoy free time more.
What do you most love about your job?
Learning about new diseases, agents, etc.
What do you think is the greatest challenge facing women in academia?
Being able to care for a family and carry out your duties.
What makes good mentoring?
Someone who has similar interests in life and recognizes needs andproblems of the person.

Visiting Plantations; botanical gardens
