(NY) Blackleg (Clostridium chauvoei infection) was confirmed by anaerobic culture, fluorescent antibody tests, and histologic lesions in multiple 3-4 mo. old Angus calves following necropsy exams on the farm of origin by the attending veterinarian and multiple necropsies also performed at the AHDC. Approximately 15 out of 40 suckling calves died over several days. Skeletal muscle lesions were minimal, but cardiac muscle was affected in all calves where it was examined.
