Food & Farming Justice: A Conversation with Movement Leaders from Ithaca Nonprofits

Tuesday, February 1, 2022 - 4:30pm

Come hear how local Ithaca nonprofits are working toward food justice in Tompkins County! This roundtable will feature a conversation between Christa Núñez, director of Khuba International, and Juliana Quaresma, incubator farm and aggregation manager at Groundswell Center. They will discuss how their organizations provide land access and training for aspiring farmers of color in order to create more equitable and sustainable local food systems.

The discussion will be moderated by Dr. Maddie Reynolds, Postdoctoral Associate in the A&S Humanities Scholars Program. The roundtable is held in conjunction with SHUM 2750 Introduction to Humanities: Environmental Justice in Upstate NY, taught this spring by Dr. Reynolds. The event is sponsored by the Humanities Scholars Program.
