Maddie's@ Shelter Medicine Program at Cornell University will hold weekly Friday sessions to provide updates on the ever-changing field of Shelter Medicine. Led by CUMSMP faculty, this forum is meant to be a place for shelter veterinarians, staff, and volunteers to ask questions and discuss their concerns during this pandemic. Note: This meeting will be recorded. If possible, please email your questions in advance to Sarah Nickerson (Shelter Medicine Program Coordinator) at SN298@cornell.edu so we can prepare to meet your needs and answer your questions efficiently and effectively. We are all in this together!
CURRENTLY SUSPENDED DUE TO COVID-19 CRISIS: Onsite: Our team offers full or targeted on-site shelter consultations. To request an in-shelter consultation, please go to our website and fill out our “Request for Consultation Services” form.
Remote: Need help with a particular issue quickly? We also offer support for specific shelter-related questions via email at firstname.lastname@example.org. Include a description of why you are contacting us along with your contact information (name, organization, email, phone, etc.).
Outbreaks require fast expert response and diagnostic support. We offer both through our Consultation email and our Maddie’s® Shelter Lab services. If you are experiencing what seems to be a disease outbreak in your shelter, please first email us at email@example.com. Include a description of why you are contacting us along with your contact information (name, organization, email, phone, etc.). A member of our veterinary staff will respond to you within 24 hours.
With the generous support of Maddie’s® Fund, we provide registered 501(c)3 organizations with subsidized diagnostic testing for shelter and rescue animals in certain states. This program provides a 50% discount on testing fees and supplies, as well as free shipping labels via USPS ground.
This annual weekend conference provides highly relevant information to support shelter professionals in their life-saving work and foster collaboration within the field. Presentations by nationally recognized experts provide shelter-related continuing education for veterinarians, veterinary technicians, management, and shelter staff and volunteers.
Our team offers educational lectures and training to staff and volunteers who work for animal shelters.
These half-day workshops on shelter medicine topics are designed to complement our annual summer ASPCA Cornell Maddie's Shelter Medicine Conference. Lead by MSMP faculty, these smaller meetings are meant to act as networking and information sharing sessions for our regional shelters. More information can be found in the "News & Events" section of our website.
