Research/Clinical Interests
Research interests include simulation-based education in veterinary medicine — the design, development, and assessment of clinical simulations — CPR and resuscitation training based on the RECOVER guidelines, mechanical ventilation simulation-based training, and clinical emergency and critical care research. Clinical interests include CPR and post-cardiac arrest care, respiratory failure and mechanical ventilation, shock, and wound management.

Biography/Professional Experience
Dr. Armi Pigott is an Assistant Clinical Professor in the Section of Emergency and Critical Care at the Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine. He received his DVM from Western University of Health Sciences, completed a rotating internship in Ventura, California, followed by an emergency and critical care residency at the Animal Emergency Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. After 12 years in private practice, he came to Cornell in 2022 for a fellowship in emergency and critical care simulation teaching and subsequently became faculty at Cornell. His teaching and research center on simulation-based education, with an emphasis on CPR and resuscitation training; he is a RECOVER-certified instructor and trainer and served as an evidence evaluator for the 2024 RECOVER Basic Life Support guidelines. He is an author and developer of VetTEAMS, a veterinary-focused team communication training program, and develops and delivers simulation-based mechanical ventilation training through Cornell's Cardiopulmonary Bootcamp and other courses. He is a clinician in the Emergency and Critical Care Service of the Companion Animal Hospital and currently serves as President of the Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Society.
