Comparative Oral Oncology Laboratory (COOL)

COOL – Homepage

Welcome to the Comparative Oral Oncology Laboratory. We are a group of researchers dedicated to advancing health for both humans and companion animals, with a focus on oral tumor biology and treatment. We are firm believers in bringing the most advanced scientific approaches to bear to tackle oral oncology head-on, and are deeply dedicated to multi-disciplinary collaborative science as a necessary and productive means to further our knowledge, and develop new cures for cancer.

Current Events @ COOL

New Publication – Single Cell RNA-sequencing reveals unique neurological phenotype in ameloblastomas.

The Sethupathy lab has recently discovered a unique phenotype in ameloblastoma tumors. These tumors are traditionally very difficult to differentiate from squamous cell carcinomas, which becomes a concern when choosing treatment options. With these findings, currently available as a pre-print in bioarxiv, we hope to resolve some of those difficulties. This may also lead to improved treatment options for ameloblastomas.

Story 2

We also did some other pretty great stuff.

Story 3

Ideally, this’d be a column of Word-press like entries, and would automagically keep current content at the top, allow RSS subscription, etc.

Grad Student X – Genotyping Feline OSCC

Grad Student X has been leading the way on our Feline OSCC project. Here, you see him preparing to genotype a tumor, and help us learn what drives oral cancer in cats. We’ll use this knowledge to propose new treatment approaches.
