Biography/Professional Experience
After witnessing the lack of regular animal health services while serving as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Benin, West Africa, Dr. Hsue became inspired to pursue veterinary medicine and obtained his veterinary degree from the University of California – Davis. He subsequently completed a small animal rotating internship at The Ohio State University and a cardiology residency back at the University of California – Davis, after which he became board-certified in cardiology by the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine. Recognizing the potential of the intersecting role of veterinarians in translational research, he then underwent a translational research fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania where he had the opportunity to participate in cutting-edge research on models of human arrhythmic diseases. He hopes to apply his newly acquired knowledge and skills to extend similar advanced treatment options to our animal companions.
