Biography/Professional Experience
Dr. Prieto grew up in Central New York State and attended the Cornell University College of Agriculture and Life Sciences where she completed a BS in Biological Sciences. She entered the Combined DVM/PhD program at the Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2007 earning her DVM degree in 2013 and PhD in Immunology in 2015. She completed a small animal rotating internship at the Veterinary Medical Center of CNY before returning to Cornell for a residency in small animal internal medicine completed in 2019. Subsequently she was a postdoctoral associate in Dr. Loftus’ lab from 2019-2021 and was appointed Assistant Clinical Professor in 2021. She is board certified by the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine.
