DESCRIPTION (provided by applicant): 

This scope of services establishes a contractual relationship between the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) Bureau of and Wildlife (BOW) and the Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine (CVM) Animal Health Diagnostic Center (AHDC) to collaborate on a comprehensive wildlife health program to address health issues involving free-ranging wildlife in New York. This program is a multi-discipline approach to manage emerging infectious diseases and zoonotic diseases that threaten human, livestock and wildlife health. Activities include disease surveillance and monitoring, data management and distribution, coordinated disease prevention and response measures, communication resources, staff training, and wildlife health research on diseases and toxins that threaten the wildlife of New York.
