This hypothesis generating study aims to identify potential theranostic and prognostic targets of septic peritonitis through platelet transcriptomic analysis using a commercial expression panel of 800 transcripts. These data will undergo bioinformatic analysis to correlate them to clinical sequelae of septic peritonitis to identify the highest value targets to investigate further in future prospective clinical trials.
