Title: Assessing HPAI Infection Risks in Dairy Cattle and Humans
Project Amount: $66,834
Project Period: April 2026 to September 2028

DESCRIPTION (provided by applicant):

This project assesses the risk of highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) infection from consuming raw and pasteurized milk, and raw milk aged cheese. It also studies how HPAI spreads on dairy farms and the risk of infection to farm workers. The identified cost-effective mitigation strategies will help shape health policies and biosecurity to protect people and animals in New York and nationally.
