Title: Centromere Variation as a Genomic Mediator of Aneuploidy: Leveraging the Equine Model of Early Pregnancy Loss
Project Amount: $12,500
Project Period: January 2026 to December 2026

DESCRIPTION (provided by applicant):

This project will pioneer genome-scale approaches to resolve and functionally characterize centromeres in a vertebrate model. In doing so, it will advance fundamental understanding of chromosome biology, foster comparative genomic resources for the equine community, and provide multidisciplinary training at the intersection of reproductive biology, bioinformatics, and functional genomics.
