Reagent validation for Development of an Antigen-Specific Salivary Immunoassay

Principal Investigator: Bettina Wagner

Department of Population Medicine and Diagnostic Sciences
Sponsor: ArkeaBio
Title: Reagent validation for Development of an Antigen-Specific Salivary Immunoassay
Project Amount: $28,481
Project Period: December 2025 to March 2026

DESCRIPTION (provided by applicant):

The aim of this project is to establish a robust and reliable immunoassay framework for measuring both total and antigen-specific immunoglobulins (IgA and IgG) in bovine saliva. This includes validating reagents for total bovine Ig quantification. Antibodies against equine IgA will be included for cross-reactivity testing with bovine IgA. Additionally, pending successful reagent validation, a new antigen-specific immunoassay, e.g., ELISA or bead-based assay, will be developed to detect antibodies specific to one or more ArkeaBio-supplied antigens. Together, these tools will support accurate and interpretable immune response analyses in future ArkeaBio field studies.
