Title: Summit for Conservation Pathology Enhancement (SCoPE): Establishing a Consortium of Wildlife Pathologists across South and Southeast Asia
Project Amount: $15,000
Project Period: June 2025 to May 2026

DESCRIPTION (provided by applicant):

Understanding the cause of wildlife mortality incidents is critical for species conservation in South and Southeast Asia but is constrained by disjointed expertise and inadequate support for trainees across the region. We will convene a transregional summit to facilitate collaboration and initiate an active network of regional wildlife pathologists. Through new and existing partnerships Cornell will catalyze these relationships during and beyond the summit using innovative web-based tools to provide continued collaboration and mentorship. We will also collaborate with the SAP and SEAP language departments to prepare training materials in applicable languages including Nepali, Sinhala, Bahasa Indonesia, and Thai.
