Biography/Professional Experience
Dr. Martin-Flores received his doctorate in veterinary medicine from the Universidad Catolica de Cordoba, in his native Argentina in 2002. He worked in the private sector as a small animal general practitioner, and in academia as an instructor in Veterinary Pharmacology and Toxicology for two years before coming to Cornell. He completed a residency in Anesthesiology at Cornell University in 2007 and joined the faculty team at our College of Veterinary Medicine thereafter. Dr. Martin-Flores provides clinical anesthesia for all domestic species and is currently section chief of Anesthesia and Pain Medicine. His research is focused on neuromuscular function as well as cardiopulmonary function during anesthesia, focusing on the use of echocardiography during anesthesia. Dr. Martin-Flores is a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Anesthesia and Analgesia (DACVAA).
