Career Connections

November 11, 2022 from 3:30 - 7:00pm

2nd Floor Takoda's Run Atrium, College of Veterinary Medicine

Career Connections is our annual job fair for students, being held on Friday, November 11th from 3:30pm to 7pm.  Join us for an informal mix and mingle with practice owners over hors d’oeuvres and wine. It will be held in the second floor of Takoda's Run Atrium at the College of Veterinary Medicine. There are over 50 practices registered for the event and you are encouraged to wander around and stop by their tables to chat and gather information. See the registered practices here.

The event offers students the ability to explore full time job opportunities, summer opportunities, externships, and so much more. Start gathering information on job opportunities, corporate practice models including compensation and mentoring, and practice your interview skills all in a low stakes environment.

If, in the process of informal networking you find practices that you would like to interview with further for full time associate positions or summer jobs you may set up a mutually convenient meeting during or after the event.  We have some tutor rooms reserved for follow up one-on-one interviews for any follow up meetings.

We will have raffle drawings that all attending students are eligible for.  Prizes include a Littman Stethoscope (value: $350), Cornell diploma frames, SAVMA merchandise, and more.  You will not need to stay for the entire duration but will need to be present at the drawing to win a prize.

In addition- we will be hosting a panel on “To Do an Internship or Not- That is the Question" with three alumni/practice owners on Saturday, November 12 from 9-10:30am in the Green Room (Breakfast will be served)

Panelists are:

Angela Martin, DVM ’02- Co-founder and Owner Island Veterinary Group
Tom Scavelli, DVM ’82- Founder and Director of Garden State Veterinary Specialists, NJ
Michelle Vitulli  DVM ’91 Founder– Caring Hands Veterinary Group (VA)
The panel will be moderated by Dr. Jorge Colón.

We strongly encourage you to take advantage of this incredible career development opportunity.  In order for us to plan accordingly, please RSVP to the events here:
