Dr. Gil Ben-Shlomo, Cornell Ophthalmologist, begins his presentation at the ophthalmology station.

Ophthalmology station.

Dr. Joy Tomlinson led the endoscopy station. Tour guests got to take turns driving the endoscope in to model stomach.

The endoscope is inserted into the model stomach.

This team caught on quickly as they directed the endoscope into the model stomach to retrieve a "sample."

Drs. Sabine Mann and Sam Sangster introduce guests to the Ambulatory and Production Medicine Service. Their truck serves as a mobile clinic that goes out to farms in the area.

The ambulatory truck needs to be fully stocked with supplies to provide on-farm veterinary care to a variety of species.

Guests were able to view parasites on slides under a microscope just as the ambulatory vets would do on the farm.

Biosecurity was the topic at another station of the tour. Some folks helped to demonstrate donning and doffing personal protective gear and equipment.

Dr. Gillian Perkins squirts some Glo Germ on to the protective gear. Glo Germ is a product which safely and graphically demonstrates to students and adults alike how germs are spread.

A black light is used to detect germs.

At the Equine Performance Testing station, a horse is exercised on the treadmill.

Dr. Jon Cheetham explains how a scope placed in the horses upper airway during exercise can help veterinarians visualize and diagnose conditions which cause poor performance.

A guest gets a turn at driving the endoscope.

Dr. Jennine Lection performs an ultrasound on a pregnant mare.

Dr. Mariana Diel de Amorim explains the fetal ultrasound images.
