Following the success of the Equine Carpus Modules, Dr. Allison Miller enlisted the help of ESS, via the Curriculum Enhancement Grant program, to create another set of modules to address the equine tarsus. The resulting Equine Tarsus Modules consist of three online interactive learning modules that teach the basics of bony anatomy, soft tissues, and radiography of the tarsus. Students view a detailed three-dimensional tarsus, explainer videos, illustrations, and radiographs while answering knowledge checks and assessment questions along the way. They also perform virtual diagnostic tests using two real-world cases. This activity helps students develop clinical reasoning and decision-making skills as they work within a simulated clinical context.
