Ralph Scunziano was appointed as Executive Director of the Agriculture & New York State Horse Breeding Development Fund in December 2022. Since January 2020, he has served in several capacities at the New York State Gaming Commission.

As Executive Director, Scunziano works with the Fund’s Board of Trustees to provide guidance and oversight of the Fund’s programs at harness tracks throughout New York State. He oversees Agriculture and Equine Research and is responsible for managing racing programs, including breeder awards and purse money within the Sire Stakes Series, Excelsior Series, and County Fair Series.

Scunziano brings over a decade of public service experience, having worked at the Governor’s Office and as an Excelsior Fellow with the New York State Thruway Authority prior to joining the New York State Gaming Commission. Scunziano holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Albany and a Juris Doctor from Albany Law School of Union University.
