Presentation abstracts and event details

  • "Getting through the tough times, or What to do when life sucks": It is a truth universally acknowledged that, sometimes, life sucks. Bad things happen. Work, school, relationships, family - the world can suck, leaving us feeling miserable, hopeless, small. This workshop will talk about how we can navigate those hard times when nothing seems right.
"What's on you mind" is a series of free presentations that aim to elevate mental health-related resources, research and skills.
All students, staff and faculty are invited to join. If you plan to attend via Zoom, RSVP to receive a link.
  • "A Presentation and Conversation with Katie King": Whether educating Cornell employees on legal compliance obligations, facilitating the provision of disability, pregnancy, and religious accommodations to employees, supporting victims of sexual misconduct, or investigating reports of bias and discrimination, the Cornell Office of Civil Rights (COCR) helps ensure equal opportunity and access for all members of our Cornell community. In this Break and Learn, we'll hear COCR's AVP, Katie King, share more about the role of COCR and the breadth of services they provide.
The brief presentation will be followed by a conversation and Q&A with Katie where we'll discuss the roles, responsibilities, and opportunities all staff and faculty have in upholding civil rights and fostering learning and working environments that honor fairness, respect, and Cornell core values.
You will have the opportunities to submit questions in advance on the registration form, and we'll do our best to address as many as possible!
The Break and Learn presentation will be recorded and housed on the Department of Inclusion and Belonging website afterwards. Register for the conversation with Katie King.
