Please visit the Graduate & Professional, Fall 2025 To Do List. Here, you will find various items to be completed with deadlines throughout the summer, and as early as June. 

In addition to the Graduate & Professional, Fall 2025 To Do List, the following items are specific to the College of Veterinary Medicine and have summer deadlines. Please ensure that you complete and submit any necessary forms to the appropriate contact person by the deadline.

Please complete the Meet the Class in your Student Dashboard. You will need a recent headshot and a short bio to share with faculty and your classmates. Log in credentials (NetID and password) will be needed.

QPR Institute’s Question, Persuade, Refer “gatekeeper” training

Mental Health and Suicide Prevention in Rural America

Sign up for and complete ONE of the following free mental health awareness and suicide prevention trainings:  

The QPR Institute’s Question, Persuade, Refer “gatekeeper” training, which teaches people without professional mental health backgrounds to recognize the signs that someone is in significant distress, and how to get help for someone who may be suicidal. Through this program, members of the veterinary community will be better able to assist colleagues and friends who might be in crisis. Compliments of the AVMA, this training can be accessed for free at AVMA's QPR Institute site. Make sure the registration code AVMA484572900 is populated when filling out the sign-up form. Upon completion of the training, please download your certificate, rename the file with your name, and  and upload it to this File Request Folder

“Mental Health and Suicide Prevention in Rural America”, a course created by the Cornell College of Veterinary Medicine in partnership with NY FarmNet and Rural Minds to give veterinary students, veterinarians, and agribusiness professionals an understanding of mental health issues, including suicide, in rural America and provide information to mitigate them.  While the course focuses on mental health in rural America, the skills and resources shared are broadly applicable.  Access the course in eCornell site.  When you have finished the course, please take a screenshot of your completion quiz results, rename the file with your name, and  and upload it to this File Request Folder

AUG 1Financial Aid Recipients

Sign the Online Master Promissory Note and Complete Entrance Counseling
For both Federal Direct Unsubsidized Loans and PLUS loans, go to www.studentaid.gov.

  1. Sign in using your FSA ID and password.
  2. Complete Entrance Counseling.
  3. Complete Direct Subsidized/ Unsubsidized and PLUS Loan Master Promissory Note (MPN).

Note: You MUST complete both the MPN and the Entrance Counseling. Your loan(s) will not be disbursed until both are completed. 

Direct Deposit Sign Up
If you are receiving financial aid and expect a refund for your living expenses, signing up for Direct Deposit is highly recommended to expedite your refund. Fall refunds are issued in the last two weeks of August, and if you are not signed up for Direct Deposit, you must pick up a check in the Bursar’s Office at 260 Day Hall.

Health Professions Loans
Health Professions Loan recipients will receive an email from our student loan servicer, Heartland ECSI, webmaster@ecsi.net, with instructions for completing the promissory note and required disclosures. 

Note: Check your SPAM folder to ensure the email from Heartland ECSI is not misdirected.

AUG 4Online Safety Training (online)

You will have access to the site at the end of June, and you will need your Cornell credentials to access it.

Complete online training "CVM Laboratory Safety and Formaldehyde Awareness" before your first lab.

AUG 4Introduction to Care and Use of Animal (Online)
