Post-baccalaureate Students
Some people discover (or rediscover) their passion for a career in veterinary medicine after they have achieved their baccalaureate degree. They will then need to return to college to gain their prerequisite courses in order to apply for admission. There are many ways to achieve this goal. Some colleges and university's offer post-baccalaureate, pre-vet/pre-med programs. These programs are designed with students in mind who need additional course work to apply to a medical curriculum. While we do not require students to go through this kind of program, they are certainly an option with some advising at those colleges.
Other students will opt for a continuing education department at their local college or university. Students will want to consider the college or university they choose to attend as they are preparing for a medical degree and very important to take courses that will challenge them and offer them a rigorous curriculum.
