  • ALERT: Reagents for the ACTH assay are on backorder by the manufacturer. We anticipate our current supply to last until 8/28, after which ACTH testing will pause. Subsequent samples will be frozen until we can resume. The manufacturer's expected end date for the backorder is 10/8. We are actively pursuing possible solutions and will keep you informed.

Wedgewood: TRH (Protirelin) now available for Equine Cushing's Testing


Wedgewood Pharmacy is now able to make TRH (protirelin) to perform TRH stim testing to aid in the diagnosis of equine Cushing's disease. Keep in mind that we do not recommend utilizing a TRH stim test between the months of August - October. We expect seasonal elevations in ACTH levels during this time period that can result in false positive TRH stim test results. If you have questions on the fall seasonal rise, how to use this test, or test result interpretation, please call the office at 607-253-3673.
