Friday, December 15, 2017

(NY; Clinton county) Equine coronavirus infection was confirmed by PCR on fecal samples of 2 out of 3 horses submitted from an outbreak in which several horses presented with fevers and signs of mild colic for multiple days. Additional PCR testing for respiratory pathogens, Anaplasma phagocytophilum and Ehrlichia risticii were all negative. There was one recent introduction of a new horse into the stable, as well as the return to the stable of one horse from temporary stabling elsewhere.
