The scholarship, in conjunction with Secretary Rollins' Rural Veterinary Action Plan, now offers up to $40,000 per year per student for up to four years. The program offers a negotiable work schedule, pays for hours worked, and guarantees a job with FSIS upon successful completion.
Jim Steere Memorial Veterinary Student Scholarship

This scholarship is open to all enrolled students, including international students. Applicants must submit an essay related to Ride & Tie. A total of $3,000 will be awarded, either to one essay or divided among multiple winners at the committee’s discretion.
VSTONE Scholar Award

This $5,000 scholarship is awarded based on merit. The student’s academic success and strong desire to improve the quality of veterinary medicine in New England.

For students who can demonstrate a strong desire to improve the quality of equine veterinary medicine. Applicants for this scholarship must be a resident or an intern at an AVMA or AAEP-recognized university or clinic equine program.
PetSmart Charities Veterinary Scholarship
Open to 2nd & 3rd year students | Due February 24
The scholarship will award up to six (6) $25,000 scholarships, funded directly to the university, to assist with academic tuition costs, not to exceed one academic year. Students must be in good standing and have demonstrated leadership in providing access to veterinary care for pets and people in need.
ASPCA Veterinary Scholarship Program
Open to 2nd, 3rd, 4th years | Due March 3 | GPA 3.0 required | Apply
The program strengthens the veterinary workforce in shelters and mission‑driven organizations while expanding access to veterinary care. Applicants must commit to three years of post‑graduation work in fields such as shelter medicine, community‑centered care, HQHVSN services, equine welfare, or humane agriculture. Students may receive up to $33,333 per year (maximum $100,000).
Aurora Pharmaceutical Scholarship Programs

The Aurora Pharmaceutical DVM Student Scholarship Program offers $100,000 scholarships this year. The application opens in January and closes in March. Selection will be based on academic achievement, related work experience, community and university involvement, goals, essay, and letters of reference.
Harold Wetterberg Foundation scholarships

American Kennel Club Scholarships

Applicants must have a background in purebred dogs, AKC events, or research on canine health or disease to be eligible for this scholarship. Scholarships range from $2,000 to $10,000. The application opens in January and closes in March.
The Feline Veterinary Medical Association (FelineVMA) and EveryCat Health Foundation Scholarship

Delaware Veterinary Medical Association Scholarship (DVMA)

Central NJ Hound Association & Somerset Hills Kennel Club scholarships

Awards scholarships to residents of New Jersey enrolled in the junior or senior year of the professional DVM curriculum. Scholarships range between $500 and $1,500. The application opens in March and closes in May.
USDA Veterinary Medicine Loan Repayment Program

The National Institute of Food and Agriculture (NIFA) may repay up to $25,000 of your student loan debt annually. Qualified vets must commit to providing veterinary services in a designated shortage area for at least three years.
American Holistic Veterinary Medical Foundation (AHVMF)

The Foundation for the Horse Scholarship

The Foundation for the Horse is dedicated to preserving and improving the health and well-being of equines by honoring exceptional veterinary students dedicated to equine practice. North Dakota Community Foundation Veterinary Scholarship (Formerly Dr. Roger E Meisner Scholarship)

American Veterinary Medical History Society (AVMHS)

Lafontaine Memorial Scholarship

Abbott and Fenner Scholarship Program

John D. Spurling Scholarship

AVMA/AVMF Scholarship for Veterans - AVMF

The Randolph & Aline Higgins Scholarship
