BBS PhD Program

Events

Graduate Student Recruitment:

Once initial admissions decisions are made, virtual interviews will be conducted in January. Admitted students will then be invited to campus for an in-person visit in March.

Our two-stage admissions process is designed to maximize both accessibility and connection. Virtual interviews in January allow us to engage with a broad and diverse pool of applicants early in the cycle, while the March campus visit gives admitted students the opportunity to experience our community, resources, and research environment firsthand before making their final decision.

BBS Symposium:

This annual symposium highlights our graduate student research in oral presentations and a poster session. The symposium fosters a community among the graduate students and faculty in the BBS Program and informs the College and University communities about the wealth of research being done by our graduate students and faculty.

Graduate Student Orientation:

Representatives from the Office of Graduate Education will be in communication with you about orientation details.

In general, BBS Orientation takes place in August. Orientation will help you transition into graduate school at Cornell and also provide you with opportunities to network with faculty, staff, and graduate students.

As soon as you have accepted the offer of admission, it is time to start planning your transition to graduate school and life in Cornell and Ithaca. Getting as much accomplished as soon as you can will help decrease your stress level once classes begin. Cornell’s website for new students has information on what to prioritize.
